My truck don't smoke (much)

I have seen a few truck that have heir pump turned up less than mine and smoke more even with stock injectors. even trucks that are the same year and with an auto. my pump is cranked as far as she will go and I can still contron idle. the star wheel is all the way the cone shaped thingy it turned to the faurthest point and the smoke screw is all the way down. is my pump sick?

Some of the intercooled 1st gens have really tiny injectors that won't smoke much no matter what you do. Also, where is your timing set? More advance = more black smoke.

I thunk that the timing advance reduced smoke? Yay or nay?

Actually advanced timing will reduce smoke.

Mine smoked like a coal train before I had the timing set back to stock from 1° BTDC.

Now I just get a light haze during accell and can get good plumes a very low RPM romps, nothing like performance injectors though.

I just changed from stock injectors (non-intercooled) to Bully Dog +50s.
The old injectors smoked a good bit more...probably because the tips were crudded up a bit and I'm guessing the spray pattern wasn't the greatest.
New injectors make the truck run smoother and pull harder at low/mid range, but don't smoke as much. Just a nice small shot then I'm gone.
I'm thinking injector condition plays a big factor. A nice spray pattern will burn, whereas some globs will produce smoke.
