So, I finally found time to install my BHAF. I did it up like the sticky so it was super simple except when I welded the little piece of tubing backwards on my bracket . I think im going to order a sock to help keep the filter a little cleaner out hear in the desert. So, what did I get from installing this?

1. A drop in EGTS of at least 25 degrees at my normal cruising speed.
2. @ 1.5 psi of Boost
3. Clearance for taxiing at the airport because with the stage 4, I sound like a jet!

My old filter was pretty dirty, so I was wondering if that is where my numbers may have come from?
Also, not to sound like a sissy, but is there a way to subdue the jet noise?

Put the old filter box back on, or build a cold air intake like BC847 did.

Or install a silencer ring.

On a dyno, you might not see an improvement in performance, but it's there in the way of subtle airflow improvements in feeding the turbo.

 

Turn up the radio!

At least on my HTT housing, there's no provision for a silencer ring, but I seem to remember reading that you can ask for one when ordering...
