Is my front suspension dying or dead...??

Ive put over a million miles on the suspension, hard working miles. The truck rides like a washboard and the front suspension feel like it bottoms out on every bump. Are the front springs supposed to have some positive arch to them. If they are, is it better to have these re-arched or just replace them? Input on upgrades and parts and do's & donts are appreciated..

They need to be replaced, your stop should not be that close to the spring.

I had my local spring shop do mine. Very happy with what I was provided...

I would recommend this, as if you have a million miles on your truck, your bushings are toast..

Jungle has an upgrade kit for the truck to replace the entire housing with a larger bushing and greasable bolts. Nice kit, but I was hesitant to drill a big hole in my frame to accommodate it. Others here who've used the kit say it's worth the effort and $$, and I'm sure others will chime in.

My truck rides great... except on really harsh roads, but it's the nature of the beast I guess. Maybe airbags all the way around is best...

I installed jungles kit and its very easy, 2'' hole saw and drill away. A guide is provided so its not a big deal. Once the holes are drilled bolt it in and done.

The greasable deal helps smooth out the ride too.

difficult to get the rear bushing out of the spring ?

I assume you used a bolt nut / washer combo, or a press of some sorts.

Getting bushings out of these springs can be a pita, but I guess you could burn it out as well...

I installed new springs so didn't have to worry about it.

In the past i have pulled the spring and pressed them out, also pressed them out in place which is alittle trickier. Burning them out is the easiest but nastiest too.

Just an FYI, if ever installing rubber bushings and having troubles, DISH SOAP! It is magical and nothing else works like it. Thats from my HD mechanic days, we used alot of it on walking beam bushings.

We burned alot of those bushings out too.

I will try and get a pic of the bushing mount on the frame now, shows the hole needed.

Stock length with 2'' lift spring. Springs haven't touched the frame yet.
