My brother-in-law wants to build 300hp daily ride 1st gen 12 valve...any info?
My brother-in-law has a 1st gen 12 valve. He wants to build a streetable 300hp version for daily driving. He asked me a few questions which I wasn't sure about, so, I figured I'd ask here.
1.) He was thinking about converting the 1st gen to use the p7100 pump. Does anyone know where to get, and more importantly, what to get to do the convertion? I know he'd have to find some way to swap out the timing cover, but, what else is needed? Would he need the lift pump, etc from a 2nd gen?
2.) Is there anything available for 1st gens to build 300 hp without converting to a p-pump and allow for a reliable daily ride? If so, where could he find it?
Thanks for the info and he thanks you for the info!

Very easy to get 300 without p-pumping. start with 4" exhaust, a bhaf, gauges, start turning screws, then throw a decent turbo and injectors at it. tell him to check out 1stgen.org, theres a list of dyno numbers there with the mods done to get there. Lots of trucks at 300, some up to 600 still on the ve, maybe not streetable, but definitely 400+ and streetable is available.

Thanks for the info! I'll forward the 1stgen.org site to him. I figured for what it would cost to convert his 1st gen to a p-pump there had to be a way to build more 300hp without having to go through the hassel of tracking conversion parts. Thanks again!!!
