It's a used leer. I was going to buy a new one and the only company I found that still has the molds is Jeraco and they're running $1000. I got this one in trade for an old Harley gas tank.

Another week and another issue. Was on my way to work yesterday and put the truck in reverse to back out of the driveway then somewhere between "reverse" and "drive" the shifter stopped clicking between gears. I suspected this would happen soon as getting in Drive has become difficult over the past month and I believe that the rooster comb spring and bearing are probably in the bottom of transmission pan.
Decided this would be a good time to order a shift recalibration kit so a Transgo TF-2 is enroute. Now I need a few days to get this stack of stock piled parts installed.

For anyone wanting to buy a new one check out Jeraco. They're manufactured about 1/2 mile from Leer in Milton PA and they're caps are just as good quality wise.
Our Cab-High Series cap for your truck without being painted would cost $1,070.00 not including sales tax. As for the options you indicated an interior headliner would cost $95.00 and comes in shadow black, blue or red fabric and a Yakima adjustable roof rack would be an additional $260.00. These prices would be at our factory outlet location in Milton, PA and as I said don't include sales tax. Included with the price of the cap would be side sliding windows, an interior dome light, a recessed LED brake-light, a front picture window and installation onto your truck including the necessary wiring, clamps and cap tape. I pulled the valve body out of the transmission to address the rooster comb problem and found a bent spring and no ball bearing. Checked the pan magnet (no bearing), checked the drain pan (no bearing). Not sure where it went but I couldn't find it. Anyhow while that was out I installed the Transgo TF-2 reprogramming kit as well. It was a pretty straightforward process to install providing you follow the directions. I expected hot rod neck snapping shifts but decided to keep the 1-2 shift civilized so that ball remained. All I can say is holy crap it accelerates very smooth now and has nice distinct firm shifts. I can't begin to explain how loose the rear band was but I will say I'm surprised the truck moved at all. Hopefully I'm done with the transmission work for a few more decades.

Since riding season started I've been too busy modding and riding the bike and slacking on anything truck related. Finally took a day to swap the rust free bed and I noticed that the body line is about 1/8" higher on the bed side than the cab side. Could the cab mounts be my issue here? Thoughts? I will post a picture tonight.

Took me several years to find a fiberglass capper for my crew cab.
I found a decent well used one on CL a few years ago.
I think it is an Jeraco.
It is the blue capper on my white crew in my Avatar picture.
The blue goes pretty well on my white or black crew cab.

Been a while since I've posted but it's truck season here and wanted to throw a huge shout out to the Geno's garage crew for a last minute late Friday night hook up. Those guys are awesome.
My fuel heater started leaking bad and truck went down Friday night around 4:30. I got a call into Geno's at 4:58 to order for a fuel heater eliminator nipple. UPS was doing their daily pick up and I was able to get my parts in that load. It was delivered Saturday morning by 10 and truck was back up by 11 and I was able to get two full cords of wood cut and hauled today. Couldn't have done it without the excellent service provided from Geno's.
