You're going to have to cut the firewall on the '75 to have the accessories from the '92 run through it at the right locations. We did on my '75 crewcab conversion.

The Cummins Engine Comand centre wiring, cruise?

What swap out did you do, let me know.

Are you talking about the Engine control lights, and the cruise,
AT OD off button.

These are all I'm going to move over, I was thinking of putting all the wires for theses systems in one bundle going through just below the stock, firewall junktion block.

If you would have time would you have any pictures you can send me of your truck.

That would be great,

you can email me

regr@shaw.ca

You can also leave files on my 75 Dodge Cummins Blog area, (Comments and Ideas)

Thanks for your help.

DO NOT use those 16.5" split ring killer wheels. I'm sure you've got some customs planned, and if so great. But if you are going to stay with stock steelies, use the 16 inchers off of the 92.

It was and is an original 4x4. The previous owner stretched the chassis so as to mount the 8 ft bed. No, I mean we cut the '75 firewall to get the '93 HVAC and electric to go through into the correct '93 positions. The AC system is complete except I need to source a new condenser that was smashed in the donor's crash.

i see what you are saying now, my thoughts were that the six banger wouldn't have room at the fire wall. sounds like it does. seeing your crew cab really gives me the bug been watching for a good ccab to start with.

As of Today I'm thinking I have to lift the body 2: off the frame to allow the rad to fit in the nose of the 75, this way I can keep the stock rad and hoodline.

I'm thinking now that your right, this will be the slickest way, I have to clean up the old frame and rebuild the front end, its worn.

More as the cookie crumbles before swap time!

I intended to leave it Cummins stock as I do want the fuel economy, this is the reason for the swap in the first place, along with the cool factor of having a Cummins powered old dodge truck. What kink of engine puller lift do you guys use for these Cummins engines, mine will not do it at our auto engines shop. I have a heavy sky hook boom off my buildings steel rafters, this was installed back in the 60's when Canadian Pacific Railway owned my building, but I don’t know if I trust the boom at this weight.

That said. As of today, I'm thinking that the only way the nice stock 92 rad is going to fit under my 75 hood line is if I lift the body 2". So this said if I'm going to have to lift the body anyway I may as well just drop the 75 body on my 92 frame and be done with it, I would like to keep the classic frame but I don't want to move the engine trans and diff as well as undo all the body mounts. The frame swap is looking better all the time. This is not in stone yet but its looking better all the time. The thought of lifting that Cummins and auto trans is not something I want to think about either.

When the cab and box are off the 92 I could have the rusty stuff sand blasted and then paint it up again. Instal the Dodge 75 body hook up all the normal stuff, brakes, wires on frame and put power to the Cummings for fuel feed, starter, alternator and I'm off.

Thenl I will have time to pull the wiring out of the 92 to dissect out the the engine circuts and build an add in sub harness, for the 75, for the ECU, temp sensors for glow heaters, auto trans lockup control button ecu integration. I want to keep the Cummins control panel in the truck, it works well and the truck starts and runs nicely, the circuits are simple and easy to move over. That is sort of what out shop specilizis in anyway, we do digital injection on gas race engines and street engines. The Cummins engine harness is small compared to these other systems we work with every day.

I want to mount the Cummins engine control light panel in the original 75 Dash, where the taco option used to be installed beside the radio.

What do you think about the frame swap, keep the classic or go with the 92, I would also have to rebuild the front end the steering box has some dead play, my 75 is tight like new, too bad.

Thanks for listening to my ranting and raving

Don't know what engine hoist he used, but we got the engine, trans, and transfer case in the air at the same time.

I don't think the 3 piece were legal in Canada?

As long as you stick with stock injectors or 190's, the fuel economy will not suffer (assuming you can keep your foot out of it). Only those of us with big injectors have low (sub-16 mpg in town) mileage, and highway mileage does not seem to be impacted even with the big injectors. Turn it up!
