How much difference is there in the rad. frame support on the IC and non-IC engines?
The Chrysler Corp auto trans bellhousing and manual trans bellhousing are the same. Any Cummins 4BT-6BT Cummins/Dodge adapter plate will fit. Flywheels can be tricky as there's 2 different sizes. Early 1st gen allow a 13" clutch, later flywheels only use 12.14 clutch. No idea on the radiator question....

I want to put a 1994-1995 auto transmission behind a 1996-1998 Engine in my '75 crew. What about starters and flywheel/flexplate fittment issues.

Your adapter plate must match the year that the tranny came from, wether auto or manual.

89-93 plates same

but different from

94+ plates same.

94 - 2002 adapters are the same from year to year, BUT, I am pretty sure there is one plate for the auto and another for the manual. The only differance from a 5 speed to a 6 speed is a spacer for the starter. I have spare flywheels and adapters if you end up needing some.

When I put the engine In the 78, I had to notch the frame slightly for the starter.

I bought a 95 auto flywheel housing to bolt the tranny to.
Thanks a lot, just what I needed to know. Do you have any info on starter interchange? Or the differences in the radiator supports on the IC and non-IC trucks?

So are the 89-93 bellhousing adapters the standard chyrsler gasser bolt patern or are cummins engine, tranny only? I would love to have a cummins to chysler bellhousing adapter for a 4bta in my Durango.
