Missing KSB solenoid on 1993 W350

My fuel injection pump has no KSB solenoid on it. The flange on the injection pump is blanked-off where it is supposed to be mounted. It is a cast aluminum blank that looks factory-made. I discovered this while connecting the tubing from my boost gauge to the 1/8 pipe connection on the intake manifold, just below the intake elbow. I found a wire with a push-on factory wiring connector that wasn't connected to anything. I traced the wire back to the KSB temperature switch on the intake manifold. The wire is in a small loom with another wire. Both wires go to the temp switch. The other end of the second wire goes to the fuel solenoid. I have the factory service manual and know the function of the KSB solenoid and when it is supposed to be energized to advance the timing for cold starting. I've read in another thread that it is also related to emissions. The emissions section of the service manual doesn't mention it. I found nothing anywhere in the service manual saying that some engines don't have it.

I got the truck used last fall. It runs good, has plenty of power and doesn't smoke much. It starts right up in cold (below freezing) weather without smoking. It gets good fuel mileage. As far as I know, it is bone stock. It has about 113,000 miles on it.

Has anybody run across this before?

Thanks, Bill

It's a non-Dodge pump. No biggie, just means you don't get timing advance on a cold engine. Sounds like whoever installed the pump advanced it far enough that it's not an issue.
