Matt, not sure if there is a valve or not. Fired it up today and worked just fine. Hopefully it doesn't keep acting up.

If you're concerned about trash in the PS/PB system, check at your local auto parts for an inline filter that you can run for a while. Might even get by with an inline fuel filter on the return side to catch whatever is floating around in there.

Could be a O ring some where too. I just seen a dodge with that problem this week. It was stuck up near the master cylinder

I flushed the power steering system out and found some lint or rag remains in it. Now it's working good.

I'm wiring up a KW tachometer that has a magnetic pick up that counts flywheel teeth. The plan is to run the engine up to the governor then adjust the tach to match governed rpm. Can someone please tell me what rpm the governor kicks in at on this '93?

Thanks Mike

unix, I got the tach out of a wrecked '76 KW. It looks to be in good condition but isn't operating correctly . Acts like it's sticking. When I find out the governed rpm it will help me to dial it in.

If its stone stock it should do like 2900 rpm in N foot to the floor.

Not sure though.

Hey guys other than twisting a few drive line components the old Power Wagon has been holding up pretty good I attached a few pics for your viewing pleasures.

I got squirrelly and broke this line (see red arrow) it seems to run OK with it broke and no fuel leaks out while running.... I'm confused now

Please take a look at the pic with the red arrow and tell me what that hard line is for and is it needed? Thanks Mike

That's the AFC boost line. You should notice a lack of power.

Well it ran just fine sitting in my shop Definitely need the boost hauling the D4, GVW 31,000. Mind explaining how that line controls the boost?

Good eye old dodge. It's a highly modified '49 D47U . It use to be a 4 roller orchard model with the tail seat but I got bored with it and converted it to a top seat. Then I made from scratch a custom 6-way blade with the C-frame on the inside of the tracks and extended the track frames for better balance.

One of the pics shows me pushing a D9 thats pushing a Cat 660 scraper. I would hate for the D9 to throw it in reverse so I made sure the operator knew I was behind him before giving him a push LoL.

Ps. you can see from the smoke I got the pump turned up too

That line doesn't control boost, it sends boost to the AFC housing. Without boost pressure to the AFC housing, the pump will not give you enough fuel to make full power, you will be down about 50 HP.

Boost will be down too, but only because the amount of fuel influences the amount of boost.
