Got my cummins manual today and started tearing the thing a part. I got some questions its kinda vague. Do i need to take my rockers and valve springs out. And do i have to remove my injectors.

You can leave the valves and springs in, but you should pull the rockers off. The injectors don't have to come out, but it's a good idea to pull them so you don't damage the tips if you bump something or set the head down on them.

i agree with dave on pulling the rockers. and most definitely pulling the injectors. it is VERY easy to to snap a tip off one of those suckers. i'd leave that manifold on there if you've got an engine hoist to use. and everything else for that matter. just valve covers, head bolts, injector lines, and the various sensors. be careful with the small bolts on the rockers too. before you put it all back together, try to find a tap to run through the holes. i wish i would've done that. i had one break right above the head surface. almost took a sledge to the windshield when that happened. i'll be replacing all those next time i have the head off. anyway, good luck and have fun.
