Good day, Mopar 2 ya:

Without researching any updates/changes that might have occurred over the years I do believe that was the same model that failed on me - the 12" Luk Pro Gold. Keep in mind that the type of force that will hasten the demise of the center section is any shock / torque loading or "whiplash" of the unit. In this case probably the worst thing you can do is punching the gas while fully loaded in first gear and then letting off then punching it again in quick succession. The thin metal center section will fatigue has been the common failure behind the cummins as seen by countless others over the years. For my truck's failure I can't attest to how many years/miles my unit had on it nor how it was driven by the PO.

A shame the images are long gone from the original post.

Looks like the current offering on rock auto for Sachs Cast Iron Clutches is PN K7068701 which looks like the HD model of old for about $250

Also There is a no name cast iron sachs style "PERFECTION CLUTCH MU871" for a measly $117.79

When I swapped to the LUK pro gold, I had over 1 million miles on the OEM style clutches with zero failures, hell never wore one out, just stuck a new one in when doing a trans. I simply changed because of price. If I could buy a stock LUK cast unit for 350.00 I would go back to it.

Stock Luk? Stock cast 13" Sachs copy is no problem at that price at rockauto.

I meant sachs.. its been 10+ years since I did my clutch but the OEM unit was some 700.00 back then as I recall. Guess when its time for a new one I can recheck prices.
