low boost

i installed my new boost gauge i got from DNR this morning. went with the boost plug on the side of the intake mentioned here in other threads.

background first.
i know i should do a list of my mods but here it goes.1992 w250 auto. 16cm housing, denny t pin. 4" front to back w/muffler, pump turned up a bit. full power screw 3/4 turn from the edge of the collar. (collar, 3200 spring next mods) air box opened up on the top. pyro pre turbo. previous owner says injectors but doesnt remember which ones. aftermarket converter as well.

installed my gauge took it for a drive and saw 22lbs boost. turned around came home, 10lbs. drove it 125mi today and best i could get was 5lbs pyro never goes over 1050-1100* cruising at 65mph i am building no boost according to the gauge. that seem right? i can hear the turbo for sure

have started looking but going to check and make sure the boost line didnt get pinched and the intercooler hoses arent damaged. anywhere else i should look? makes me wonder when it warmed up where the boost went.

its a mystery, better get Matlock i guess

Is the pyro at 1100 just cruising at 65? Sounds like you blew a boot or something.

I had issues going over 20psi and it turned out the previous owner wound the HIGH idle screw in instead of the LOW idle. After turning the power screw up he was trying to turn the idle down and turned the wrong screw.

Any noticeable loss of power?
Just a though, but Teflon tape love to plug little tubes.

Maybe there was some crud built up around the orifice on the inside of the intake and it's come loose and jammed into your fitting?

Check the compression fittings on the ends of the boost gauge tubing, if you over tighten them you can collapse the tube and restrict the flow.

thanks for the help guys. I work huge hours so getting time can be a problem. anyways. rechecked my fitting at the intake and it was good.
went to my pillar mount. pulled it and found the hose kinked over. rerouted it and its as good as new. 22lbs. that a ok number for a mildly modded set up?

thanks again.

22 seems a bit low for what you have. I'm thinking you should be 26-28ish.
