Lovin my truck....

Well RAE's been on the road just over a week now, and I'm lovin' it!!

The feel, the sound and the manual shift are just working for me, oh and the fact that the fuel mileage is about 3 times what the old gasser was getting in the 87 ram don't hurt either.

Few issues have arisen, sounds like the throw out bearing might be on the way out, squeals once in a while when engaging/disengaging the clutch. The power steering box is leaking, have to find a replacement. The tires I have on there now are old, and with all that front end weight they are starting to crack pretty bad. But spent yesterday reading through the archives and cruising Tirerack.com, and decided on a new set of 235/85/16 BFG Commercial T/A's, ordered them online and they should be here within a week. Also sounds like I need a valve adjustment, again reading through the sticky and found that excellent thread by DieselJohn, so will be doing that next week.

Thanks to all who have helped and given advice, or just commented in older threads that I've been reading through, your help on getting RAE back on the street is muchly appreciated.

That's what we're here for! Share some knowledge, take some in. You've been helping others too I've noticed, so the balance/Feng Shui is maintained!
Glad you're getting RAE up to the standard you want her at. It's always better when progress is being made.

My leaking power steering box was just the large thin O-ring that seals where the vac pump joins the PS box. You might just luck in with a cheap fix! ...

No it's leaking out of the top of the steering box on the frame. Guess I could throw a seal kit at it and see what happens. Other then the leak it seems to work fine.
