Looking for Quality htr core and evap

Guys,

I'm probably going to go ahead and replace both components, but I'm trying to avoid junk parts and buy the best. I only see 4-seasons and napa on the evaporator- the picture is the same.
For the heater core, I had previously heard napa is better- but online they show proline which is the same as everywhere else. The dealer online has one for $232 which is lots more than $50 for the aftermarket. But I know sometimes it's the SAME part.

Anyone with recent good experiences please let me know ASAP.

I have not heard any good reports on the aftermarket parts for these.

I can personally vouch for the poor heater core quality. I recently helped a friend do one in his 93 and we had to run all over town to find one that was good enough to use...and t still required modifications to make it work.

Maybe I should pull the evaporator out and have it cleaned and repaired like we use to do on heater cores.

Got a call into to dodge to see if any NOS ones are on the shelf at a dealership.

Beware of the aftermarket evap core, the angle of the flange for the ports
doesnt match the factory core.
Look at step # 39 in this post

Yea that;s the Murray/proline one shown. There is also a GDP one available which is a different design- looks to be Aluminum.

No factory stock so there is little choice unless I go find a used one. I could possibly have mine cleaned/repaired.

If you have a good reputable Radiator Shop locally, ask them what they sell when I had my radiator recored he told me could get good domestic brass cores I think it was from Indiana.

I doubt a professional shop would get parts from a flakey vendor especially if the inferior parts don't fit because wasted time is lost money for them.

I would pay double if I knew I was betting something good.

Try someplace like this,
