Looking for a 16cm^2 housing

I have a 1992 Auto D250 that is completly stock. I have had the truck for a while, but have not gotten around to getting it setup. It has 90k miles on it.

I am also cutting up my downpipe and building a 4 incher. Unfortunately I have .035 wire in my welder right now, so I am going to have to get a new spool before welding on that thin pipe.

If any of you guys know where I can get a good deal on a housing, let me know.

Thanks,
R

You can use .035 wire no problem at all. I've done hundreds of 16g pipes with it.

no kidding. I was practicing on a scrap piece yesterday, and could not run a bead without blwoing through the pipe.

I'll try turning the welder down some more. Maybe I just had too much heat.

I have an aolderHobart 200 welder, and in order to get it to the lower range of heat, I have to move a wire inside it. I'll do that and give her another try tonight.

Thanks for pointing this out.

If it isn't a tight fit you will have problems. But yah just turn it down. Also if possible start at the top of the pipe and work your way down. Less heat buildup when you travel faster and go downhill.

This was my 4" downpipe I made from a scrap 3rd gen exhaust system

Re 16cm housing..

Check ebay too.. I was eyeballing one a few weeks ago that ended up going for around $70 shipped..

I didn't pull the trigger though, I already have the 18cm and pleanty of other areas that need attention first
