I just bought a 91 dodge 1 ton and it needs a tranny any body got any ideas where to find a cheap on.I have ask about every body and they all said good luck.

I need the getrag 5 speed.I have found a nv4500 does any body no how hard it is to make one of those work in a first gen truck?

 

Is it four wheel drive?

 

Its 2wd reg cab flat bed dully with a getrag 251000 miles all stock white red interior new tires.It hasnt been started in about 6 or7 months and yesterday I went and put two gallon of furl in it and a new battery and it fired right up that is why im tring to find a tranny because that is all that it needs and they only want $1000 bucks for it.

 

Is there no tranny in it or is the current tranny bad? If the current tranny is bad, check into rebuilding it. Otherwise, you'll probably pay more for a reman tranny than you will for the whole truck. I think Blumenthals quoted me around $1800 exchange a couple of years ago.

There is a tranny in it but it is stuck in third gear a firend of mine found me a tranny for $600 and I thank that im going to get that.

 

For a grand you'd better just buy the darn thing. That's cheap. The trans as a core could bring 600.

 

Does any body now how much boost the motor will take before haven to put studs in it I have found a cheap turbo off of a 03 dodge.

 

More than that Hy can put out. LOL That turbo is gonna suck on that truck. The H1c is a far better turbo that can accually grow with your needs unlike the one on the 03.

Oh and I've hit 50psi on mine with stock gasket and bolts, no retorque.
