LOL How to clean a locker LOL

Well I killed the rear in my truck last month when the outer wheel seal failed and the bearing and spindle became ONE.

So I picked up a new rear from a junkyard in Nottingham PA (Mason Dixon Auto Salvage), well after I got the rear bace to Delaware and popped the cover I found a destroyed 4.10 open rear (At least I got two good hubs and a good housing).

Then I went to Erie (7 hour drive) to pick up a rear that I won off ebay. He had the cover off before I won the bid and said it was fine but that he had dropped the pan in the dirt and stuck it back on (grrr ).

So after getting a tankful of bad fuel from the only place I could (Sunoco on the PA turnpike) and changing the filter in York, PA I finally made it back home.

Here is a pic of me cleaning out the dirt from the new rear ( ) It worked the the rear held up on my trip to Florida with the Jeep, Talon and my new gooseneck.

Better get out the WD-40. Just be sure to clean it out with compressed air before the rust starts. Repack bearings, etc.

Ehhh.. run it for a while and change the fluid to make sure you get most of the moisture out... Would be a good idea to check the bearings too and make sure no moisture is residing in there

I ran it for 300 miles, drained the fluid, added power-lock additive and fresh oil.

Looks good to me. Nothing wrong with soapy water as long as you dry everything out.

Brad, did you get your trans fixed yet?

What I want to know is why did you look for a place to buy bad fuel?

Wow, I bet the neighbors love that operation! Ha... I personally love it, sweet truck man! Did anyone have to swerve around that axle sticking out into the street? Heh heh... Seriously, really nice truck, hope the rear end lasts you awhile.

The whole scene, the truck with stack, parts on the front yard, truck apart in the street is great.I absolutely love it,theres something rebelious about it. Your neighbors must love you! I esp like you cleaning the inside of the rear with a hose.I commend you for doing it all yourself, thats awesome.
