Lmc repop grille?

Has anyone tried one of the more expensive aftermarket grills to know if they are actually $150 better than the cheaper ones? I'm going after my second reman, first never did fit right but i lived with it for several years. if they're all cheap crap I get it I'll deal with it, but sometimes that little bit extra can be worth it hopefully a few guys will weigh in here.

I think the aftermarket units all the same, not aware of a better unit on the market.

Do the repop grills have the black Dodge lettering in them or the holes to mount them?

Not the ones I have seen.

The re pop stuff can not use the name Dodge on their aftermarket products.

The re pops are shiny and smooth. The have a cheaper chrome that seems to peel faster and they seem to crack easier than the OEM ones.

I pulled the re-pop one that the PO installed on my '91.0 and installed an OEM one with a little patina and the standard crack between the D and the G.
I had to modify my grille to fit over the 2nd gen intercooler I installed and I was not going to modify and trim up a mint OEM grille.

I'm going to cut and splice the grilles I have with whatever creative splinting and epoxy I can figure out. The end result will get painted body colour, most likely black.

If you still have the old one a good body shop will remove the existing chrome and hydrochrome it for about $100.

Here's my LMC grille. It's definitely a flimsier plastic than the original but the one that I got is a good fit. Six months and 15,000 miles on it and no pealing or cracks yet.

Looks good to me .I know they don’t have the dodge indentation in the grille for the letters but has anybody tried to just put the letters on or does it look to obvious

There's a thread in here somewhere about sticking the old letters on with some sort of 3M adhesive I believe. That Grill there looks pretty good to me the fit is nice compared to the cheapies that I have had

I have an 80's style, hood-mounted DODGE name plate on mine. I think it would look redundant or just too cluttered if I had the lettering on both the front of the hood and on the grille right below it. So, for me, it works out better that the grille is smooth. Besides, I won't have to get upset when the "G" falls off.

When I updated the grille on my 89 "DODGE" was on the hood so no problem. Unless you know your Dodge Trucks you wouldn't be able to tell.

When I debadged my 2009, I replaced the ones on the doors that were the size of flatscreen TV's with some smaller ones I found at Amazon...You might find something you like there......Ben
