Lift pump question?

Does anyone know if this is a low pressure pump and if it would work without a regulator? http://cgi.ebay.com/CASE-IH-Fuel-Lif...item53df43c98d

o-f-i's website says its for ve fueled engines but i wanted to make sure.

I see quite a few Cummins powered Case/I-H tractors at the shop, but have yet to see one with a VE pump; all I have seen have the P7100.

That does not mean that they don't exist.

I thought I'd read that there was a spacer required to use a piston pump on a first gen. Is this true?

I have worked on a few of the VE pump Case/I-H. They are older, but still a great work horse. And none of the owners want me to crank up the pumps. Most of them use water to air intercoolers.
