lift pump issue

So my truck started acting up, where it would start n idle, but if u got on the go pedal it would fall on its face, like it ran out of fuel. So I decided to installed a fuel psi gauge to check n monitor the lift pump. I tapped the banjo bolt on the filter housing to fit a 1/8 npt hooked up my gauge and..... got nothing. So I craqcked the line, still nothing, just spit out a very very small amount, n I can stop it with my finger n feel nothing. (Now about 3 months ago I installed a lp piston pump of a 8.3 ve. ) but if I pump the hand primer it will shoot out a nice big solid stream. Sounds to me like the cam lobe ain't movin the pump in n out. I'm goin to pull it tonite, but I was wonderin if anybodys had this problem, my next step mite just be a holley black.

Thanks again karl

Pull the LP off and see if it broke the actuator rod.

yea when I pull it I am goin to leave the inlet lin hooked up, n pump the back part of the pump by hand n see if it squirts like it does with the hand primer, n I ll check that Rod, I can't remember is there a rod between the cam n the lift pump arm? Or does the arm ride rite on the cam?

IIRC it's a direct actuation.
