Lift pump gauge
Lift pump gauge
I have a stock lift pump on my '91. What kind of pressure should I see coming of that pump? Is there an electric sending unit out there to keep the fuel out of the cab?... thanks
I was seeing about 4 - 5 PSI at idle with the stock diaphragm lift pump. I'm now seeing about 14PSI with the piston pump.
Electric fuel gauges with electric senders are pretty expensive ($200 or so). Isolators are available where it runs fuel from the gauge to the isolator and anti-freeze from the isolator to the gauge. That's what I'm doing, with one gauge after the pump and one after the filters.

My (soon) implementation for fuel pressure will be a cheap ($10) non-lighted 0-16# gauge plumbed up through the slots on the cowl. While not "optimal", it does keep the potential for fuel leaks out of the cab and should be visible through the windshield during daytime operation (good enough for troubleshooting under load). If it works, I may splurge for a lighted gauge... just need to see *what* the FP is NOW!
