Length of 727 2wd transmission

Like the title says, I need the overall length of a 2wd 727 trans. Looking at installing a 4BT into a tracked vehicle and I'm exploring options. I can leave the turbo 400 on it, but I'm trying to keep the length to a minimum.

I have a 2wd diesel trans sitting on the floor. It is 27 3/4" from bell housing face to u joint centerline. This trans has a "fixed" yoke, not a slip yoke.
Hope this helps.

Yes, thank you. That's very helpful, at least now I know what I'm up against.

727 lenght

check out some of the older motor homes and trucks. some of them had a real short tailhousing and a bolt on yoke. the output shaft and housing will fit the 3 spd. diesel.
