I was wondering if one of you guys could measure from the bellhousing to the yoke for me that has a truck with a 2wd 727.

I am working on putting my 12v into My 81 wheeling truck and trying to get my ducks in a row before I rip into it. Im pretty sure I need a 727 short tail shaft that would bolt to a diesel. I think the reg 2wd will be to long. Not sure. Because I am running a divorced 205 case. So I will have a small shaft between the two.

I wish I could help but I discarded those measurements a while ago.

I do know that the diesel 727 is ~2.75" shorter than a 2wd Getrag.

Also the short gasser 727 off of a '72 or '73 pickup with divorced transfer case is the same overall length. I know this because I swapped a cummins / 727 in place of the old 360/727 and it fit the same.
