leaky inj pump

I have been playing with the engine in my parts truck lately, inj pump is leaking,
sounds normal and no smoke at idle but
I get white smoke and it sounds crappy when revving it up.
could a leaky inj pump cause this condition?

where's the leak coming from? if it's leaking fuel, it could be sucking in air also.

i think there are two leaks. I see drops from the diaphram vent and the other I'm not sure yet, problably the top cover. Got 190's comming for the work truck, i'll swap in the good used one's and see what happens. If that doesn't cure it I guess I'll be pulling the pump for a re-seal job.

Like Jim said, the air in the fuel system is probably why you are getting white smoke and misfiring.

the leak from that vent tube means you need to reseal the fuel pin with a bosch gasket kit, P/N: DGK-121. a local fuel injection shop should be able to get one for you for around $16. it's a simple task. since you've got a 3200 spring, you know a few steps in the process already. read up...

To get the oring for the pin out you need a 4.5 mm Allen wrench not all Allen wrench kits have this size in them. My pin was sticky in the pin bushing I took it out and cleaned it good and there is a gasket that goes under the bushing. If your pump has a brass throttle shaft bushing I would put a new one in at this time. ken

Thanks for the advice, got a seal kit ordered. I think I'll take the pump off and reseal the whole thing.
