Leaking injection pump

Hi all, couple days back i noticed my injection pump had a very small drip to it. Now it's pretty much a steady drip when the engine is running. It is leaking from the area where the throttle linkage is.
The only thing that i can think of is that i put on the piston style pump and that could be too much for that seal. Truck has 312k, so what do you guys think?
Thanks
Brent

If it's 312k on the pump, I think it's time for a new bushing and O-ring. I think the part #'s are in the 1st gen FAQ, any Bosch pump shop can get them for you. That's a very common leak. On the bright side, it gives you a good excuse to put in a 3200 RPM spring.

So is this a common leak just when you upgrade the pump or do they all start leaking at some point regardless of what pump is on it?
Thanks

A common leak whether you have 20psi or 0psi entering a high mileage VE.

So what part do i need to replace whatever is broken/worn out? Just the seal kit or do i need the bushings too? Can this work be done by anyone or do you need special tools and manual to do the work?
Thanks
Brent

Throttle Bellcrank Bushings
These are the replacement bushings for the throttle bellcrank. If your bellcrank has alot of play, these will fix the problem.
Dodge Part# 4425053 Retail for $1.95 each. You will need two.

VE Gasket/Seal Kit
Part # DGK121 (Bosch) expect to pay around 15 bucks.

It really depends on how wore the throttle shaft bushing is. I just replaced the o-ring on CowboyCustoms' '93 last week. It was pouring fuel pretty good, but the o-ring sealed it up really nicely. The bushing does not come in the kit. Looks like a couple blocks of wood and a c-clamp would get the bushing squared away, but I've never done one...

These are not the bushing you are talking about at the injection pump. These are for a different bushing not associated with the injection pump.

Yes you can do it yourself. Simple hand tools will get the job done. The seal kit will include the o-ring G talks about. Some throttle shafts get worn and or will have a groove in them and will require replacement. New one ~$50, then you'll need the bushing as well, can't remember the price on it. Once you get it apart you should have an idea if you a new throttle shaft/bushing or just the o-ring. www.scheiddiesel.com will get your any Bosch or Cummins part you need.

So does all this stuff have to come apart if i wanted to replace the rpm spring or is that entirely a different area of the pump? How about the fuel pin? Thinking about replacing them both with aftermarket parts.
Thanks

To R&R the throttle shaft o-ring you have to have the pump top off. Here is a good site with instructions and pictures for doing a 3200rpm governor spring install. You remove the pump top to do that job. So that is why you can do a gov spring while you're in there. Thanks to Den for the great site: http://dens-site.net/Dodge_CTD/Governor_Spring/.
Another reading from Bushwakr, no pics, but instructions and tools needed etc: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...n&onlynewfaq=1

Check those out and they should fill you in and maybe make you feel a little easier about doing this job.
