Leaking fuel from the injector pump

Leaking fuel from the injector pump
Hi all, New here and need some help. I have a 1989 dodge diesel and have noticed a fuel leak. Looking at the pump from the driver side fender I see a small rubber overflow tube?? on the backside of the injector pump. This is on the right side of the pump or you could say the firewall side. I removed the rubber tube and I can now see (with a mirror) a square silver piece with a brass middle with a small pinhole size area in it. This only leaks while running. Can this be tightened? Does it need replacing? Expensive fix???? HELP!
I hope I described this in a way you can understand!
Thanks, Heath

The problem would have to be internal. The piece you refer to is a vent, and there shouldn't be fuel in the area behind it. Tightening it won't help. Hopefully someone else can tell you what the actual repair is.
