Killer dowel pin fix , complete

Killer dowel pin fix , complete

Just completed the instalation of the kdp tab, also loctited and torqued the inner housing bolts, took around 3 hours had some interuptions. Dowel pin was not coming out, 156,000 miles, parts from Genos garage. Will sleep well now.

Glad it went well, I too wonder about my KDP.

I was looking at TST's kit today and thinking about ordering it, didn't know Geno's carried that as well. Since I'm probably going to be pulling my injection pump for a reseal, so may as well get in there and take care of that as well.

Peace ov mind was definately worth the 3 hrs it took me too. Just to note the TST kit comes with *FINE* directions too.

the Sticky has had all the information for a long time, and you don't have to spend money on aftermarket kits if you don't want to...

there's no way to tell whether the dowel pin was secured without opening up the engine, right?

I just ordered the TST kit today...$65 is not too much to spend considering the alternative

That is why I suggest getting a letter punch set and marking the upper horizontal surface of the timing case 'TABBED' so it can be seen without having to speak to the owner who had it done.
