This is the first time I've seen kero cheaper than fuel, I know diesles will run on most anything but I wasnt sure of the effects it would have on the engine. I thought kero was oily but I guess its not much.

Problem with most kero is it's dyed. I wouldn't run it.

The dye is to designate that it is tax exempt. So unless you find clear Kerosene you'll be in the same trouble as the guys trying to run off road diesel & the tax man may want to have a talk with you.

Kerosene delivered to your home is dyed red. Kerosene sold at the corner service station is clear because the attendant is supposed to make sure it goes into a can and not a vehicle. I get 200 - 300 gallons of dyed red kerosene delivered for heating each year. It used to be clear until about 6 years ago when the politicians got involved in loosing money on kerosene being mixed with #2 diesel by big truckers as fuel.

All Kero around here is dyed. I've considered it last time fuel was $4.50 a gallon but couldn't find clear

Left red fuel in the sun in a milk jug and it lost it's color. Just sayin.

Don't you get worse mileage running the kerosene?

If you look into the sun bleached red fuel, they can still detect the isotopes or something like that. FYI
