KDPs

Ive read several posts reguarding the KDP. Is seems an oil soaked front end is a sign? My 93 has a spotless engine but the frame and crossmember shows signs of a once upon a time massive oil leak, dried thick crusties. it leaks not a drop in the years Ive owned it, should I assume there was a problem in past days and the KDP came loose????

Thanks,,Apache

Re:KDPs

It's possible. When I was looking to buy a truck, one that I looked had oil all down the front of the motor, and the entire underside of the truck was coated with oil soaked crud. I figured it had KDP damage and passed on it.

Re:KDPs

I would suspect a leaking front crank seal, or vacumn pump gasket before a KDP.

Re:KDPs

A small leak in the front cover can work it's way down and get blown back over the cross member/ center link etc...that was the source of my leak which was the result of a couple loose bolts on the cover.
