Question KDP Tab info needed.

Have a 93 Dodge 5.9 diesel.Got worried about the KDP after reading all the posts. Removed damper & timing cover to inspect the pin.Noticed that the tab/washer that is used to secure pin in the kit is oblong & flat. I'd like to know how that can workwhen it has a shoulder there where the bolt is and I don't see how this flat tab can bolt against the flat surface where the bolt is and mount flat against where the pin is with the approximate 1/4" shoulder there. Can someone offer an explanation? Thanks.

You have a kit for a 2nd gen engine.

Take a center punch and stake it in. They don't worry about it.

KDP Tab info

Thanks for the photo. It clears up a few things.

If the step up on the aluminum housing is different than a 1st gen engine does that identify it as a 2nd gen engine?? I know that the injection pump is a 1st gen pump. It has the connections for fuel lines on ther ear of pump instead of on top of pump. So what does this mean? 2nd gen engine with 1st gen pump??

Appreciate any info you can give me on this. Thanks.
