Does Cummins sell a fix for the KDP or is it an aftermarket only part?

I don't think Cummins feels they have a problem

I believe they are content with the 'peening' recommendation (so as not to introduce additional parts into the problem)

 

Yes they do sell a "TAB"..part# is 3958017..

 

I thought everyone made their own pin blocking tab.

I saw reference somewhere of a method of blocking the dowel pin by drilling and tapping a hole and adding a set screw.
All this is done externally without disassembly of the front cover.
I can't find the reference now.
Has anyone else heard of this??

 

I think that's how Wannadiesel does them. He's done a bunch, search his user name with KDP and you'll likely find a lot of reading material. I did mine internally about 3 hours ago. This pic is before cleanup of filings and whatnot, so please pardon the mess, hehe.

 

i just ground a little off the cummins tab so it would sit in there really nice.
