KDP questions
Hi,
I am planning to do the KDP fix on my 92' and my father's 95'. I am gathering parts and have some questions.
1. Do you need a balancer puller to get the harmonic balancer off?
2. What size and thread is the bolt that you use to secure the tab?
3.I need a barring tool to turn the engine over to get to the 2 hidden case bolts right? (i bought 1 from the mac truck today)And where do i put it?
4. what other tricks are there to make the whole process easier?
I just want to have everything to do both before i start so it will go smoothly. Thanks

Normally the balancer will come off by hand or with a little jarring with a hamer. The bolt you use is already in place, just remove it and put the tab on it and reinstall it. The barring tool I have not used but it goes in the flywheel adapter on the passenger side front. I use the crankshaft pully bolt to turn mine. Make sure you remove all the case bolts one at a time and clean the threads and bolt holes with parts cleaner and locktite the threads before putting them back in. You will need to heat and bend a wrench to reach the bolts behind the timing gear. Make sure you place a piece of cardboard over the back of the radiator to protect it while you work. Clean everything well and replace the front crank seal, RTV the cover back on with black RTV and you are good to go. And also before you get stumped on it, the bolt with the strange washer goes at the bottom to the driver's side of the crank pulley when you go back together and begin scratching your head as to where it came from.
