I've done a bunch, and finished another this weekend-you need to do it!! It's not that bad, and will only take you about 4 hours if you have never done it.

Yea, I have to do mine. Can you just pull the kdp from the block or do you have to drive it back in a secure it with a plate?

Google it and read all of the information... it will scare you and keep you up at night until you fix it

If it is out you will need to drive it back in. Then tab it. TST has a kit to do the job with good instructions for about $50.00 or you can find the tab for a couple of bucks and get a new seal for the main. Get some lock tight you need to check the bolts under the cover mine were loose pull them one at a time and put some lock tight on them and tork them down. There is a post where a pin came out did thousands of $$$ of dammage I have seen photos of covers with large holes in them.

Dowl pin

Fixed
