Just My Luck!!!!!!!!!!

The rear engine snapped the camshaft on one of our pieces of equipment. (YES It has a secondary drive engine (diesel) mounted on the back to operate a vacuum.)
The engine was just rebuilt 409 hours ago including the head, new exhaust manifold, complete bearing roll, new turbo among other things. Well they decided to order a brand new complete engine and stick it on. They decided to throw the old motor away. Guess what. It's a 5.9 CTD. There is some small trinket parts to remove from it for the new engine but it's all relatively complete.
They,ve agreed I can HAVE it.
Gee it looks like I got a BOMBing project motor.

I always have ROTTEN LUCK.
hehehehehehehe Anybody want my bad luck?

H1C

I was over at the other yard looking at it. It has a H1C turbo.
Is this a stock, plane jane type turbo?

Is there a spot on this site that lists the different turbo designations to show 1) what size they are
2) amount of boost
3) how quick they spool up
4) applications
5) which is best for what purpose
You know , just some general information to help us decide what turbo is best suited for our needs.

What fule pump does it have on it? The VE or an in-line pump?

THe H1C is what was stock on our trucks, and then replaced by the hx-35 in 1996. Different engines had different compressor wheels, however, and I am not sure how you determine which wheel the specific turbo has . . .

VE pump

Well, the new motor just came in this morning. It's a RE-CON from Cummins with rebuilt turbo, exhaust/intake manifold, oil filters and adapter, VE pump and oil cooler. Just gotta wait til' the old one gets stripped of the needed exchange parts and I'll have a project motor.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWW!
