I've asked this before, but... (body lift kit)
Re:I've asked this before, but... (body lift kit)
I think all the lift manufacturers will say their lifts do not work with the diesel engine trucks.
The really big issue is the radiator, you cannot lift it as you would then be unable to clear the fan on the engine. Running a smaller fan is not practical.
If you are good with a welder, and do not mind cutting the front sheetmetal and hood support loose and rewelding everything after you leave the radiator at the OEM frame level, it is not that difficult.
A good mark one eyeball inspection of the front of the truck will show you all the parts that have to remain with the radiator to keep it aligned with the engine and not flopping around. Then a trip to a junk yard to find the cross brace components needed to latch the hood and the related supports will be in order. You will have to do a bit of fabrication to make it work.
Another issue is the fuel tank attachment to the filler neck. Your eye will tell you what is needed there.

Re:I've asked this before, but... (body lift kit)
Most body lifts I have seen /installed, the radiator was left at it's stock height(relitive to the engine)so the real issue is the intercooler. Yes you will have to reconfigure the ducting to accomidate the raised position of the intercooler after the body lift. It should not be too difficult. Due to the distance from the engine you may be able to get away with no mods at all. You'll just have to try it and do what 's necessary
Re:I've asked this before, but... (body lift kit)
so what would be the best way to raise it? I already bought 7226s springs to level it, now I'd like to raise it a little if possible. Is there a way?
Re:I've asked this before, but... (body lift kit)
In my expirence if you want a lift ,go full suspension its much easier. Skyjacker makes spring lifts for these trucks they have good proudcts that fit perfectly.
