Its alive!! sort of

Well I fired up my 70 chevy that I droping the 93 cummins in, I did not have the inercooler hooked up yet , but it was a test fire. She started right up and sounded good, for about 30 seconds, then sputterd and died. I hit the blead off on my fuel filter and she sucked in a bunch of air. I gess I will have to drop the tank. I have a pump in the tank from the LT1 I removed, I was hopeing it would pull fuel through the pump but I gess not, it will if I manuely pump it but not when it is actualy running... My 4" exhaust sounded sweet though!
I have a small oil leak that appers to be coming from one of the rear pan bolts, I replaced the pan gasket while it was out , I did not notice or check
are the rear bolts through holes? if so I did not seal the threads. So I started to hook up the inner cooler last nite , found a good use for the stock 3" down pipe! Do you know on the 3" ruber couplers , do they make them in 90s or 45s ? I will keep you guys updated.

Congratulations, ought to be an awesome truck when you are done. I have always liked that generation Chevy truck, sounds like quite an undertaking.

A good place to find the angled boots.

As long as the pump in the tank doesn't put out more than 15-20 psi, you could use it to feed the engine if you wanted.

He said its a lt1 pump, which if its for the EFI lt1, than it probably puts out at least 40psi.

Yea, EFI it was around 55psi with the regulator, without Imsure its higher. how about an inline regulator, if I kept it around 15 psi, would a gas syle pump last with diesel fuel. If I did that should I keep the mechanical lift punp?

You could use a regulator. If it was me I'd ditch the in - tank pump. The mechanical pump is simpler and they rarely give any trouble. Also you don't need much electricity to run the truck - nice if the alternator dies.

I can vouch for this I drove my truck 3 weeks hotwired, before I realized the alternator wasn't charging.
