Its Alive!!!!

Well finally got the new motor back from MCS Diesel and got it in truck and running on Saturday. It's been a long hard road since motor was dropped off there on May 17, waiting on parts, machine work, piston coating and ect.. When I went to pick it up he started cleaning up the head and found 5 cracks between exhaust valves. Good thing OUT-OF-HERE just traded a head in. So now the only thing left I have from all the money I spent with Schied before is the 14mm studs and cam. Every thing else has been changed.

I don't know if it was from balancing motor or the fluid dampener or bolth(I'm sure) but I can't get over how smooth and quiet the motor is. It just sits there and purrs like a kitten. I want too think the guys that suggested the fluid dampener. But like Timinva said I'll have too take it off to change the belt. I haven't been into it too hard, probable no more than 1/2 throttle with tst on 3/1 but I noticed a couple of things, the HTT 66/71/16SS has a waste gate issue. They set it at 50lbs and at 38 it opens and dropps boost to about 34lbs. With this my egts hit 1400 pretty quick. Tried visegrips on actuator hose and boost hits 50 then drops to 45 when wastegate opens. I need to get a drive pressure gauge on the truck to get turbo set but at this time I'm wondering if turbo is too small? I have a lot of fueling left and don't want anymore melted pistons.

The flux 3.5's are great the don't hardly smoke unless you want them too, and with the dual cp3's they seem to pull hard. I don't know if it was my head or injectors from schied but the truck don't haze smoke at idle or cruise speed anymore.(thats a big plus).

Went from J/A to TST and mechanical gauges with 2 pyro probes. The TST reads about 200 degrees hotter than the new D-Pricol guage. My tranny temp guage doesn't work right, it starts at about 180 and slowly makes its way up too 270 and stays there under light driving. I know thats incorrect, 1st tranny temp light would come on in truck, and 2nd tranny would be slipping and burn up.

Anyway I'm trying to get some miles on her and get her tuned in right before I really start to throw the coal to her. I just hope this turbo isn't going to be a big issue or maybe I shouldn't of upgraded it and just done what POUR'N said and just went with a A5K and been done with it. Any advise on the whole turbo thing would be greatly appreciated.
