Isspro r5503

i've been reading about how this type of tach wires up to my truck and i do have that plug that is taped out of the way, under my dash. now my question is how have you guys fastened the wires to the plug? female connectors or is there a plug out there that plugs into it and do it that way?

Do you have a part number or lead me in the right direction to get one?

No problems with that one. It will work with the harness, it's the one I used and it fits in the column pod very nicely i might add

I believe they will both work with the plug and wiring kit. I used the R5503 due to it fitting into my pod (as linked in previous post), but it doesn't matter which one you use if fitting your pod isn't an issue.

This is the plug kit

You guys are spending $35 on a few pieces of wire in a loom ??

You still have to either tap in, or cut off the factory plug for the one wire that leads to the computer. Save your money and make your own wire like David did in the sticky.

All four wires are there, in the plug. There is no need to run an additional wire to the computer, the signal wire is in the plug. (12v ignition black, ground black, lights orange and signal wire grey)

The kit is NOT always needed, but it comes with 5 connectors. Although you only use 4, there is some resistor, filter or what ever in one of the wires for some tachs (it's in the instructions to use it with my tach, but it is incorrect), you would use just one of them, either the filtered or unfiltered wire. If you don't need the filter, you can certainly make your own harness quite easily.

That thread is the one with moving the overdrive button moved to the column shifter? That's the one I followed as my original 1st gen was an auto.

Yes that's the thread, but I never said to "run an additional wire to the computer".

I simply said cut off the plug under the dash and make your connections.... You can utilize the other wires at the same plug, but I tapped into existing wire I had set up previously for power, lamps and ground, so I only used the "computer" wire at the plug under the steering column to make my connection.
