Lets just say, I gotta meet this guy someday, he is one heck of a fabricator. I have a rockbuggy, based on a ScoutII, but that RC goes way above and beyond my modest skills. I will have to check and see if he is on the Colorado4x4.org board, I am a moderator there, but dont recall seeing anything related to this build.. BTW thanks for giving me something to do this afternoon, Im still not even a third of the way thru that thread

The symptoms you 2 are describing, 9 times out of 10 is the wiper motor itself going bad.

Thats a possibility too. In my case, the harness and stuff was exposed to the elements for a long time, and then gutted from the 92 cab, and adapted to work with my 77, so my fist inclination when something isnt doing right is to look to the harness, and its components Anyway, once I find this darn module, if that doesnt get it, I will throw a motor at it. I plead lazy, the wiper motor is harder to change than the plug in module that is assuming I dont end up having to pull the cluster to get to mine, since so far, I havent been able to see it up under there with a flashlight, and lets just say, I dont look forward to having to pull the stereo and stuff back out lol.

Not parking, yes. Just having high and low, with no intermittent is a bad intermittent wiper module.

Ok, so after a trip to the local pullnsave, I found one module, in a van. even says wiper module on it, That allowed me to find the harness plug on mine, which was vacant, had nothing in it at all, which explains why that wasnt working so far so good right? Well, not exactlyNothing ever goes that easy with my trucks. I plug the module in, and hey the wipers come on, but wait, the switch isnt on, hmmmm, somethings fishy here. maybe vans have a different module? maybe this one is bad? dunno. So start probing stuff with the test light, and all of a sudden they park, when I probe wire#1, pull the test light, and they go back on. Scratch my mostly bald head(yall wonder how it got that way) So? on the 92/3 dash, is there a light that comes on with the wipers, that in some way puts a ground load on when turned off? Easy enough to put a indicator light in that line. With the test light in the circuit, it lights up when the switch is no, and goes off with the circuit, take it out, and the circuit stays hot.. Still no int tho, but at least they go off, and park like this.... I really hate wiring, no I mean REALLY hate wiring.

I had the same problem with my 93. The motor caused my relay to melt. I replaced the relay, and same thing as you, stuff started going wild. run with switch off, speed up, slow down, whack

With the relay removed the motor would work fine on slow and high, but would not park. You'd have to time it just right.

I replaced the motor and voila!!! If that's how you spell it???

Oh yea, before you go replacing the pain in the butt motor, make sure it has a good ground. Maybe just a piece of heavy gauge jumper wire from the negative battery post to the motor casing. I've had that be a problem with other trucks I've had.

Hope you get her fingered out

I do have a jumper on it right now, one of those little detail things that I havent gotten around to yet, is drilling the new 3rd bolt in. The 92 wiper motor has a slightly different pattern than my 77 cab, naturally thats the bolt with the little ground strap to it, so I stuck a jumper on it til I could get a roundtuit I will have to pull that motor to drill the hole anyway, might just go grab a motor and throw it on while Im doing it..
