Interesting Caravan Pics...
Mike Aka Loco1 (Banned for life on DTR - cool guy tho) and I made a trip to drag the 1972 crew to my new house where work on it will be finished.
Here are a few pics. Hiway 50 from shingle springs to Sacto had an interesting sight of two 1992/1993 twin 5sp w250 cummins with a rare power wagon in tow... Mikes is towing , it started life as a 1992 D250 getrag and is now a w250 nv4500///
CBs all the way, uneventful for the most part except for the driving it off the back of his trailer with no brakes into my alleyway as a quick way to unload
I now have stock wheels back on the 1993 with toyo m55 hyparadial 235/85R16 tires.
Cheers. Oh... And those wondering about the crew, it is going to be a 'trail' rig but far from a true wheeler. Cummins 1989 with 727 2wd auto to stock 1972 divorced np205 and dana 60F/70 rear 4.10 LS axles from a 1990 w250 donor... Just want to explore the sierras without roughing up my 1993 60K original mile creampuff for now... + the crew can take some friends in the back with a cooler = fun times in the mountains...
1410 yokes will be in with ubolts all the way around,,,, 37" hummer goodyears on 16.5" old school 'mag' alloys...
More pics to come. This may or may not become a build thread...
haha
ok for the pics...

That power wagon is just insane!! I've been following it for a couple years, the guy has so much tied up in that rig, it is going on 4 years of build. But looks to be an indestructible behemoth...
I will take some cues from his, I love the bed... must be heavy though...
I am going to hack the bed as it is already trashed and flatbed it ... perhaps do a fender stretch like mieser on this board... the 37" tires with little to no lift should be perfect for this rig...

It's not often that one gets to see such closely matched trucks, both in such good condition.
Please explain this "fender stretch" business and maybe link to some pictures.
I was once contemplating splicing about eight-inches into the entire front clip of my 1978 K-20 to make room for a 3208 and am wondering if this is the sort of fender stretch you are meaning.
Thanks.

Clear as a bell.
That was common practice back in the late seventies on GM trucks, as they were very stingy on fender-clearance.
Many just took a hack-saw to them (we didn't know what a sawzall was back then); but, if you didn't want a two-year-old rust-bucket, you did a little welding and filling and made the change look like factory.
The big problem with that (and the situation I face if I replace the rotten fenders on my old 78 K-20) is, should a fender need replaced for whatever reason, one must either alter it also, or revert back to little bitty tires.

haha good one..
Here is the link to Meiser's 1992 W250. It is a lot of work but it works well. I'm not interested in going high with this rig, it'll turn into a monster too fast... A little more ground clearance is all I need.
Here's the link to the fender mod, BK
https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...-t241792.html?
Sorry for reposting your nice SO, Meiser, but this is a great pic of the mod.

He didn't know either, he was pretty upset about the whole thing for a while.
He said that he made a post in one of these forums asking about a bumper or something that was posted on the forum for sale that was pulled b/c it was a classified ad miscategorized, and he called an admin a democrat for pulling the ad.
"must be a democrat" I think is what he said.
I guess don't mess with the admins on here hahaa. He's just an old fashioned type guy without a good online social manner/awareness when it comes to forums and type chat. He fits in at pirate4x4.com great haha.
