Interesting Caravan Pics...
Oh well guys, the D100 only has 60,000 original miles but cmon it is a 1976 that will always need a SMOG check in California and will cost me more a year in insurance alone to keep it registered than it cost to buy the friggin' thing!! Yes it has the birdbath hood, as does the W200 1972... I'll have to move the 'power wagon' emblems to the green hood and the '300' emblems will replace the '100' on the fender
The 1976 D100 also has a stock 2wd SWAY BAR
Besides, I'll be taking almost ALL the truck's body and be actually using it for the crew... It'll live out a glorious life I promise..
There was a guy I have been pestering out in Arizona about his W100... I've been looking for a nice matching short bed adventurer d/w100 for a looong time. A poor little single cab short bed from the 70's is/was going to give up the ghost for the crew one way or another. The white w100 pictured below had over million miles on it! and it was used extensively in the woods off road! That's all I plan to do with the crew... go off road for sure but not any real 'wheeling' like rock crawling... The crew is going to be a beast, definitely not restored or too nice to romp around. I already have a 'too nice' truck in the 1993, definitely don't need two...

The 1991.0 D250 has just over 200K miles and had a leaky injector pump, 727 auto.. It sat for a couple of years and was a lien auction rig that has no title... so 900 bones it was.. pump never touched. Good solid non leaky 3.07 rear... (spare for the '89 now) LE model. What else you wanna know? below is a pic.
The engine and auto was pulled , and installed into the crew in a day.

Also, nice custom 4" shortened 1410 driveline for the rear of the crew that came out of the 1991.0... The original driveshaft had the smaller yokes for the gasser D60 rear end. Now it has a D70 from the 1990 W250 Donor. See how nasty this truck is underneath? I'm not going to be afraid of off roading this thing haha...

Lil' Brownie, I hope this guy holds up behind the diesel, we'll see. I'd like to eventually install an oil temp probe and gauge for this box. I know the auto will be easier on it than the 5sp cummins setup... Definitely a necessity with only a 727 trans and 4:10s...

This rig has 4 driveshafts. 727 - Divorced np205 (both 1410 yokes). Np205-D60F (3360-3360(the small square dodge stock joints.. no 1410 shaft here yet, maybe down the road...). Np205- Brownie (Stock small dodge 3360(?) to 1410 input to brownie). Brownie - D70 (1410 - 1410).
The 727 - Tcase stubby stock shaft broke on the PO at some point behind a 360 gasser... There are two holes banged in the floor pan. He upgraded yokes on the 727 and the input to the np205 to 1410 and had a custom upgraded shaft made to replace it. This shaft bolted right in perfectly with the diesel np205 and stock 1410 yoke.

Thanks for the parts from your crew , BRB/Chris. I think I'm going to end up running your blue crew fenders to cut up at first to fit the 37" tires n there and see how the thing drives... The green truck sheetmetal would be perfect with stock 235/85R16 tires... I don't want to lift the crew at all.
Pape/Nick your project is moving right along! I just sold the Scout on eBay and I have a back-up offer too, so I should start making some progress on my crew soon. Your frame doesn't look much worse than the frame in my '93 - commuting to Truckee in the winter on I-80 is not good for old iron. Looking for a cheap pre-76 Scout II to drive on snow days while building the truck - if you happen to run across one!
Out of curiosity, have you mounted your 37" tires on the truck and checked full-lock clearance to frame?

have any of you guys painted your undercarriage with either POR-15 or Chassis Saver?
I made an offer on a 91 Kali truck that has NO rust at all...want to keep it that way once it moves east to salt-encrusted winter roads of New England
