To intercool or not to intercool, that is the question!

After 2 1/2 years of not doing a singe thing to my truck I am finally ready with some parts to get some things done as you may have seen with my other posts. I will be replacing the heater core and evap coil along with just about all the ac system. The head is almost (hopefully) done at the shop and the twins (mod h1c to ht3b) are ready and waiting. I have a stock intercooler from a 1st gen and all of the pipes, should I install it as well? I was also considering a cross flow radiator... what do you guys think? Is the stocker worth it, my budget is getting lower and not sure I want to go out and buy a PS intercooler. Thanks!

i feel the benefits of an i/c are huge, especially towing in mountains, or pushing hard for long pulls. ive go a non i/c truck, stock i/c truck, and my old ford with an 06 dodge i/c, i got dirt cheap. the power i get out of truck and can use is alot more with 06 i/c. i feel it was worth the work to stuff it in. the stock i/c isnt that great unfortunatly, but better than nothing. i would try a power stroke since others have used them in 1st gen.

i have run mine real hard without the ic and now that i am installing one hopefully i will be able to run it harder and keep the thing from getting real hot. i would install one. with twins you will see a lot of cooling but with an intercooler and twins it would be the hot set up i would do it

I understand the benefits of an intercooler, my question was more aimed at if the stocker was worth the trouble or if I should go after something else

It's not a trouble and it's absolutely worth it, (stock IC).
