To intercool or not to intercool
To intercool or not to intercool
As the title says.
I want to run compounds in the next 2 years or so. My goals are to have an egt safe 350-375 hp while towing.
Also, quick spoolup is a must.
Do I need to run compound turbos to keep that kind of power cool, or will I be able to get by with an intercooler and a single with a smaller exhaust housing for spoolup? If so, what are the recommendations? What about compound non i/c?
What are everybody's opinions of the aftermarket coolers? Worth the money? Do they fit?
Thanks.

I did the 2 gen intercooler install with my own little twist and I love it. Whatever intercooler you decide to go with wether it be a 2nd gen one or a powerstroke one. There will be some fab work involved. Personally I wouldn't waste money on a aftermarket one, not that there is even many options.
Not sure on the twins though.

i would run the 2nd gen ic and then eaither find a cheap set of twins or run a big single, like a 62/71/?? could go 12/13/14.
my plan is to go 62/71 or 74 and probally a 14, unless i find a used 62/71/13ss
should cool that kind of power towing
