Instrument Cluster Housing
Instrument Cluster Housing
Howdy everybody, I am new here. I bought a ranch truck about a year back and I am finally getting around to redoing most of the wiring on the truck because almost nothing worked and all the wires are going to nowhere.
I ran into a problem though, the housing that hold the instrument cluster is extremely brittle and is barley held in the dash by about a 1/4" of one screw. My first thought was to throw some fiberglass over the entire thing and build tabs that extend out so i can have some places to screw into.
After I got to looking at it though, all of the screw holes that keep the clear plastic and all the gauges in place are cracked.
That leaves me with my question: other than junk yards does anybody know where I can get the instrument cluster housing? I've checked ebay and there is one on there but it is for an 89', which has a different set up.
Please help! I can't put my truck back together until I get this figured out!

Hmmm I responded to this one, but it's not here now....????
What year is your truck? And what are you making reference to...the clear plastic gauge cover, or the white plastic main body that the gauges sit in?
The clear plastic cover should be the same from 80-93, the main white plastic body will be different from 91.5 to 93...since they used a different gauge lay out, and an electronic driven speedo.

here is the link to it on ebay:

thrashingcows: My truck is a 92' and I only need the white plastic that the gauges sit in, the rest is in pretty decent shape.

I sent the guy who is selling the 89 instrument cluster housing a message and he said he had one for my truck! Seems like a good source to get used parts if your wrecking yards don't have any of our trucks. His user name on ebay is: partsitout
Yup I've bought a number of things from that seller...never had a problem.
