Install injectors

Install injectors

Iam installing new injectors is there anything I need to know. Do I just pull old ones out and put new ones in and torque them.

its a good idea to make sure these no crap that gets in to the injector hole, you will get leakage if these dirt in there, but what are you going to torque it to

Clean the bores out with a bore brush and a vacuum (tape a small piece of hose on the vac nozzle). Make sure the old injectors each have a copper washer stuck to them, if not you gotta dig it out of the bore.

Leave the injector lines loose when you get ready to start it. Crank it until fuel starts shooting out and makes a big mess, then tighten them and try to start it. You will probably have to loosen three, crank again, tighten, loosen the other three, crank, etc. a few times to finally get it lit but it will run eventually.

A snort of ether is a good short-cut as long as you disable the intake heater grids.

Thankyou do I need to torque them or just give them the old torque arm.

44ft/lbs for the injector retainer nuts and 18ft/lbs for the high pressure fuel line nuts.

And just barely snug on the return line banjos. Better to have a leak and have to tighten a little than to snap one off.
