injector seal question
I was cleaning under the hood today and ended up hoseing the engine down. I noticed as soon as I fired it up I saw bubbles comming out around #1,2,3, injectors where they screw into the large nut type fitting, its machined recess held water, and thats where the bubbles were. I have no fuel leaks or other noticable problems I can see or hear. whats the cure for this? Are the injectors screwed in ? I also noticed one of the "O" rings sitting outside the injector body at the base on #3. I would have thought I would hear compression leaking or something. If they have to come out hows it done correctly? is it worth upgrading to ??? I dont want to kill my 15 mpg which isnt great already. But im always game for some more ponies. My local guy quoted me around $400 for parts and 1.5 to 2 hrs to install something new. sound about right?
Thanks for the help.

The injectors are held in place the large nut 24mm I think. The "o" rings you are refering to are actually a quad ring that seals water out of those threads. The injector has a copper seal that sits at the botton of the injector well - then the injector goes in - next the retaining nut. Once the nut is torqued the Q ring seals everything against moisture - mainly. The bubbles you see are probably due to a bit of compression loss through the copper seal. At this point if you plan to pull them and clean them you might want to see if they are stock - although it doesn't sound like they are. See if you can find a number on the injector just above the 24mm nut - post the number. Maybe we can tell if they are stock or not.

Curious as to what makes you think there not stock injectors? Also after I cleaned the engine, I saw a Mopar tag on the side of the injector pump and not a Bosch tag. Is this any indication of the pump being replaced by Dodge?
