Are the injector pumps the same in all 1st gen engines? The non-intercooled to the intercooled or are there differences?

 

the ksb works differently,not hard to make work on either one. the non i/c pump needs power to it when engine is warm. the i/c pump has power to it when cold. Ive heard non i/c pump has better delivery valves . havent looked into it myself. i would advise against running non i/c without power to the ksb all the time. pumps bolt up the same.

 

sorry wasnt real clear on ksb. don,t run non i/c pump with no power once warmed up. some truck have defferent afc springs also, just minor differences.

 

The delivery valves are different as well. Non-IC are longer.

 

Thanks guys...................how does one tell the difference? There's one for sale up here and want to make sure it'll work on an intercooled engine.

 

The non-intercooled pumps don't have a hex head on the fuel screw.
