injector install help!
injector install help!
I just put in my newly cleaned sticks and now there is fuel spraying everywhere around the injector
, as well as bubbles forming on the retaining nut.
...I went out and got the install kit but there is a few things...
What should I torque the 24mm nut to?
What are the long rubber sleeves in the kit for?
Should I teflon the injector line connection?
and finally, any tricks for getting the old washers off the injectors?
thanks to everybody for their time (in advance), now I have the pleasure of taking it all apart again to do it the right way...

Another question....the rubber quad rings included in the kit are smaller than the injector bodies but seem to fit allright on the underside of the retaining nut....do I just slide them over the injector and tap them into the groove on top of the reatining nut? Is there anything that goes between the retaining nut and the injector or is this simply a press fit seal...
You need the injector washers on the bottom of the injector, around the tip. You can use pliers of any sort to get the old wahers off.
TOrque the injector nuts to 44 ft-lbs.
The square cut o-rings are dust seals to go in the groove around the inside of the hold down nut.
NO teflon on the injector nut threads. They are flared to fit and seal from the line to injector top.
Good luck. Once you get it figured out, it gets easier as you go along.
