anyone with info about putting a CR in a 1st gen. I'm sure it can be done. I'd just like everything to work. I'm thinking this would be an option down the road with the crew cab.

If you have the money and time anything can be done, lol. I wouldnt think it would be that hard just get a doner truck so you can get all the electronics of the doner truck. Sure would be a sleeper!!!!!!!!!

I know Volker is working on a stand alone, but I wouldn't think I'd need that with all the ford and chevy's running these and making things work.

It was done a couple years ago, I think it was in Diesel World or Diesel Power. Blue D250, I remember reading about it and I don't think it was a very big article.

Definitely would be an awesome truck to drive, no offense to the VE guys.

I think CR motors exhaust sound is loud, You can hear those things for miles down the road if they'r straight piped, the motor sound isn't that loud though.

I think that would be sweet though. We all understand, We all like power and that thing would definately be a sleeper. Keep us posted if ya do it.

Just buy a complete marine commonrail engine. You can buy a stock 485 horse version. Most likely only cost 45,000 bucks.

Theres a guy in CA that has a single cab d250 that has a common rail in it. I've seen it, well for a short second after he blacked me out. Later on in the year my grnadpa went to a dyno day and that guy was there, He owns a diesel performance shop and put that truck together.
So in short it can be done, If you got deep enough pockets.
