I have bought the 3200 rpm governor spring from PDR and I would like to have it put in at the KY meet if I can find someone there to do it. But, I am gonna be about four hours from home. So, my question is will I have any trouble getting back home? Also, if I have this done, is there anything else I should do while I am into the pump (fuel pin, etc)? I am totally ignorant to how the pump works and the internals of it. Thanks alot to you guys in advance!

Qik2D, Pete said Dave is going to tote those down 4 ya, so it should all be set up now. I have a few things id consider sending, but I am still up in the air about my next purchase yet, so im going to hold onto them. Wish I could be in attendance ya'll, 1st gen or not, but I couldnt set in a truck for that long, let alone move into a wheelie chair.
Have some fun for me guys!

Efbeason, no worries, there will be lots of good guys there to help with the install. Pick up a VE gasket kit. I needed one when I did mine, being as the pump top has to come off.

As long as Dave (wannadiesel) is there I don't think you'll have any problems.

The only thing that usually goes wrong with a 3200 spring is throttle indexing, and that's pretty easy to fix. As long as you have a few good sets of hands it should be no problem.

what comes with a gasket kit? in the sticky I seen where the top comes off it has a rubber gasket which should be reusable. Just wondering if I should pick a kit up before I take mine apart

I couldnt list them all, but its basically every gasket u need for a rebuild. I replaced like 3 gaskets on mine total over the course of a year.

Cool! I've got one to install too. So I'll either be doing it at the same time or watching yours so I can do it at home! How long does it take for those experienced folks?

I plan to bring some takeoffs that I don't need anymore. Anybody coming have a 16" stock wheel they want to unload?

I was just doing some reading on the forum. If I can find someone to do the 3200 rpm spring, should I grind my fuel pin while I have the pump apart? If so, what should I bring to do that with? I am really looking forward to this meet!

12mm wrench, medium or large flat head, n a dremmel. Its very easy, right under the AFC housing cover. Pull the pin n grind away to hearts content. Just keep the "ramp up" to it. Its suoper hardened steel, I used my bench grinder to take 90% of mine down, then fine tuned it with my dremmel. The hardest part is keeping it so it doest defuel way up in the neck, (or creating a valley to push the rack travel back out up in the neck) I took mine down to like 1/16". it looks like its going to break off, but like i said, its super hardened steel.
Look up G1625S, and in his gallery, hes got a picture of a stock one, and a cut one.

If I do this, will it make my egt's go up? Is there a trade-off by getting more hp (higher egt, engine heating, etc)? Thanks!

Guys, the swap meet is in Kentucky, not on here.

Ads go in the classifieds, not in the forums.
